Application
Sodium chlorite may be used in the following studies:
• Synthesis of chlorine dioxide.[4]
• Oxidation of primary alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes[5] and of the aldehydes to the corresponding carboxylic acids.[6]
• As hydroxylating agent for the hydroxylation of androstenedione (steroid).[7]
